August 9^th, FOCO Girls Gone Derby's Kung Fu Donnas took on the Pikes Peak Derby Dames mix-up squad at Budweiser Event Center.  This was FOCO Girls Gone Derby's first host bout at the venue and second bout against PPDD. 

The Donnas came out hitting in the first period.  Donna, Skater Bater, broke a finger a few jams into the bout but powered through to score 10 pts in the first half.  Both teams took a few jams to get used to the new surface.  They stayed tied most of the first half until PPDD's Psycho Babble skated a massive 18pt jam to pull her team ahead 68-55.

 The action picked up in the second half.  The hits were fast and furious.  As the penalty box started filling up, the teams used power jams to swing the score back and forth.  The crowd was excited to see speed skaters,  Psycho Babble and Urrk'n Jerk'n, battle it out in several jams.  Urrk'n Jerk'n answered Psycho Babble's 18 point jam and followed up with an impressive 15 pt jam to pull the Donnas ahead.  After losing key blocker, Buster Hiney, near the end of the half, the Donnas pulled together to defend their lead.  The Kung Fu Donnas egded PPDD 122-117.
