The Mayday Melee delivered on our promise of a no-holds-barred grudge match between the Chanel Cartel and Deathrow Dolls! We’d like to welcome the Reverend Jimmy James as he joins Mizz Communication to the announcing team.  Mad props to our super fans the deathrow shank makers for using their dinner trays to escape to the melee.

Both teams felt each other out in the first half as the deathrow dolls took a 50-42 lead going into halftime.  The skateboard market skate troop thrilled the crowd to the tunes of the furious Electric Strike Force.  The gloves were off in the second half.  Both teams delivered some brutal hits sending jammers into the crowd and causing fans’ beverages to explode. 

Chanel Cartel member, Coco She’ll Nail Ya, was knocked into the outer reaches of the crowd behind the penalty box.  Jumpin’ Cholla almost got flung out of the building through the back entrance.   

EMT’s got a workout tending to Ophelia Johnson’s head, Yoshi Twisted’s leg and Ghetto Gorgeous’ knee. The Chanel Cartel’s focus on defense allowed them to pull ahead by 6pts going into the final jam.   

The Deathrow Dolls didn’t give up though.   It was anybody’s bout right down to the final whistle.  In the end, the Chanel Cartel gained sweet vengeance with a 93-84 victory.  

Join us on June 21^st for the Pineapple Smash! Ophelia, Yoshi and Ghetto will be healed and ready to “lei” the smack down.  Will the Deathrow Dolls be able to break the tie or will the Chanel Cartel stretch this season’s series to a 2-1 lead going into the summer travel season?   

The Kung Fu Donnas will spend the summer on the road in interleague combat.  July 21^st they throw down with Salt Lake City’s salt city derby girls before heading into a fatal four way against rmrg, ppdd and scgd.  We also have some summer surprises in store, so stay tuned for more details!!
